Leonard Ong is an experienced business leader with over 30 years at BP, spanning roles in retail, lubricants, and regional operations. Starting in BP Sabah in 1988, he grew the network from 1 to 18 stations before moving to BP Malaysia to manage company-owned stations and lead the Young Entrepreneur Scheme. He later advanced into the lubricants business, holding national and regional roles from 1998 to 2021.
He successfully integrated Castrol’s East Malaysia operations, led Malaysia & Singapore functions, and drove key initiatives in depot rationalisation, route-to-market, restructuring, CRM, and distributor management. Many of the people he mentored now hold leadership positions in the organisation.
