Palinus Mainus is from Kg Penulangon. He began his career in welding from 2007 to 2008 at a hardware store in Ranau. In 2013, he worked as a forest ranger with TSH Resources in Forest Management Unit 4, FMU 4. In 2021, he volunteered to become a member of the ranger team under the Forever Sabah project based in Kg Penulangon, Ranau. He joined the project with the aim ofgaining experience and learning something new. He became aware of the need to preserve natural ecosystems, especially endangered species like orangutans.
