Born in the old Tampasak village, before the construction of the Babagon dam, Roysten and his family had to move to the new settlement of Tampasak in 1994. He studied at Sincere Skill Academy, taking a course in Food Preparation Diploma, prior to joining the Payment for Ecosystem Services project. Roysten is now a guide for eco-tourism in Tampasak village and is also an assistant field supervisor.
