The Kinabatangan and Segama river are two of the longest river in Sabah. Its watershed area is almost one-third of Sabah's land mass(2.3 million hectares), spanning from mountain ranges on the interior west and meets the Lower Kinabatangan & Segama Wetlands(LKSW). The LKSW is Malaysia's largest contiguous mangrove, coastal and estuarine ecosystem on the east coast of Sabah, a wetland larger than Singapore and internationally recognized as a Ramsar site.
